Safety planning can benefit a survivor who is living in fear or being physically or sexually abused. Together, a service provider and a survivor jointly create a plan to increase the individual’s personal safety. The safety plan is survivor-driven and centered and based on the survivor’s goals, not the professional’s opinions and recommendations. This section provides safety planning tools for both professionals and survivors of abuse in later life.
